Fisherman’s Wharf
Sandwiched between the popular Dallas Road beachfront stroll and the high end hotels of the Inner Harbour you’ll find one of Victoria’s last working docks – Fisherman’s Wharf. Rugged trawlers, brightly painted houseboats and seafood eateries vie for the attention of locals and tourists alike. For a dollar you can by a malodorous herring to feed the local harbour seals that hang around the wharf, or for greater entertainment place the fetid sardine on the nearest big hair (beehives, blond dreadlocks, and 80’s backcombs will all do) and watch an instantaneous re-enactment of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds .
