WEEKLY SHOUT OUT – VICTORIA SUSHI

Good afternoon, pretty ponies! How the heck are you? We have pre-empted our usual Sunday spiel in favour of a mid week shout out as this Saturday, the gang at H.A head to Parksville for our annual summer getaway. We miss the Coombs Market and the rooftop goats. We hope you are thriving and having your […]
Saltchuck Pie Company

Hello there, pretty ponies! We hope you have been getting along great. First of all, we apologize for the long hiatus. Work beckoned, and while we’d love to Horse Around 24/7, even dear old Monty has to work to earn his hay, er “pay”. No matter, we are delighted to be back, and just in […]
La Taqueria – Victoria

Hello there, pretty ponies: It is no secret that we at H.A. H.Q. go rangy for all things Mexican – ESPECIALLY the nosh. As if in answer to our prayers, a number of quality Mexican eateries have cropped up around Victoria, each having its own devoted customer base. We don’t blame you one bit Victoria. […]
Glo Restaurant & Lounge

Casual, yet sophisticated dishes, an appealing appetizer menu, and a killer cocktail list served indoors in Glo’s sophisticated, modern dining room, or outdoors on their scenic patio looking over the Gorge Waterway. Great for business lunches, date nights, or hanging out with friends late into the evening. A few minutes north of downtown but well worth the trip. Highly recommended.
Wheelies Motorcycle Cafe

Wheelies is one of a kind – a custom motorcycle shop with an in house café serving surprisingly good food and drink at reasonable prices. The café menu is small & meticulously crafted: five sandwiches, three sides, and one dessert, and the drink menu similarly small but sophisticated. Wheelies also features live local punk, and rock’n’roll shows on weekends plus brunch to cure your hangover on Sunday mornings. Located in an industrial part of town Wheelies proves that sometimes, in order to find the good stuff, you need to venture off the beaten path.
Ferris’ Grill & Garden Patio

Ferris’s has many menu items revered by locals as classics. Comfort food like chicken penne soup, classic burgers and fries, and poutine sit alongside more sophisticated fare such as oysters, seafood pastas, reasonably priced cocktails, and locally crafted beers. With a charming patio in the back for al fresco summer dining and a cozy brick interior for the rainy season, it’s always a good time of year to head to Ferris’. And considering the quality and quantity of food provided, even a cheap chicken like Pete has to agree that Ferris’s downstairs is a bargain.
La Taquisa

High quality authentic Mexican food available from two “cafeteria-style” service locations. Fast, fresh, delicious and very cheap considering the quality of food. A “Pete’s Pick” for pleasing our palates and our pocketbooks.
Duffin’s Donuts

Some of the most eclectic 24-hour menu selections in Vancouver. Mexican torta sandwiches, Fritou fried chicken, hamburgers, all-day breakfast, Chinese food, and Vietnamese noodle soup just to name a few (with a clientele as varied as the menu offerings). “Duck and cover” cold war décor with pre-fabricated furniture indestructible enough to survive nuclear Armageddon add to the charm. What more can we say except you might need some Rolaids after a visit to Duffin’s, but who cares when the food is as good and invigorating as these fine offerings.
Pizzeria Prima Strada

Pizzeria Prima Strada is a lively authentic Italian eatery that features unfussy food made with fresh premium ingredients. Their specialty is wonderful Neapolitan style thin crust pizzas cooked in a wood fire oven.
Green Leaf Vietnamese Bistro

A cheerful Vietnamese eatery serving generous portions at low prices. A large selection of noodles, soups and rolls with many vegetarian options. Some of Victoria’s best Southeast Asian cuisine.
